Impact Evaluation Study of National Horticulture Mission

Client Name:Directorate of Horticulture and Farm Forestry, Chhattisgarh

Study Area: Eleven districts of Chhattisgarh

  • Assessment of Increase in area, productivity and fruits, vegetables, spices, medicinal and aromatic plants in district as well as state level compared to baseline data before the launch of NHM
  • Understanding the impact of climate change on the cropping pattern, if any an how people are taking adaptation measures in 11 districts of Chattisgarh
  • Status of organic farming in the district.
  • Impact assessment of green house cultivation in the district along with the available market linkages of the produce and the future marketing strategy of the produce
  • Overall impact of National Horticulture Mission initiatives

Expected Outcomes:

  • Design the impact assessment methodology and criteria and indicators for the study
  • Conducted field survey for data collection in 11 districts.
  • Collection of data from the GP members and farmers  on physical and financial performance, participatory planning processes and the overall impact
  • Compilation and analyzing of the data
  • Developed models for improvement of the program interventions based on the study
