Research Interests

Originally trained as an Anthropologist he has been pursuing studies related to bio social changes in communities and facilitating socio ecological processes towards sustainable development. He has been engaged to pursue research related to Participatory Development, monitoring of natural resources, developing criteria and indicators for participatory monitoring of natural resources by involving different stakeholders for last 25 years. He has experience of working with the tribals, forest and forest fringe dwellers of more than 15 states of India on issues related to Participatory Forest Management and Natural Resource Management.

Selected Recent Projects:

He had been a Training Advisor for the Andhra Pradesh Community Forest Management Project, funded by the World Bank. He had been a Consultant for Evaluation of Forest Development Agencies in Dhamtari and Udanti Forest Divisions, Chattisgarh. He was also a Consultant for Process Monitoring and Impact Assessment of People’s Protected Area, Dhamtari Forest Division, Chattisgarh. He had been a Team Leader for facilitating the process of microplanning in Daro Deoria under Mid Himalayan Watershed Development Project,Himachal Pradesh, funded by the World Bank. He is a Lead Consultant for DFID for facilitating the process of Management of Change for RCH project, West Bengal. Team Leader for developing communication strategy for West Bengal State Health System  Development Project.Consultant for design, implementation and monitoring of Micro Water Management Project in North Bengal, Arcadis Euroconsult.
