Preparation of Scheme Development & Management Plan manual for West Bengal ADMI project

IBRAD was assigned to prepare a Scheme Development and Management Plan manual under Accelerated Development of Minor Irrigation Project sponsored by Water Resources Investigation and Development Department, Government of West Bengal.

The aim of having the manual is to guide and assist the field level officials of the department and the SOs to prepare the SDMP in consonance with the Project Appraisal Document and the Government Rules on Handing over the Minor Irrigation Schemes. It shall serve as a reference document for the SOs, project staff and Minor Irrigation Scheme Management Committee (MISMC) members for consultation while preparing the SDMP and its implementation.

The manual gives an insight on the basic concept, processes and procedures relating to formulation of SDMP for each minor irrigation scheme under the project and will also help in developing a common approach among the project staff, SOs and the WUA members to prepare the SDMP and its implementation.

The manual was prepared through a participatory process and after assessing the current situation of the irrigation system and the village as a whole and have also identified and prioritize desirable interventions as well as prepared cost estimates.
