DPR preparation under IWSM, Jharkhand

Client: Dhalbum Forest Division, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand 

Time Frame –March, 2011 to May, 2011

IBRAD was assigned the task to Prepare Six Detailed Project Report under Integrated Watershed Management Program for six different micro watersheds of Dhalbhum Forest Division, Jharkhand.

The DPR will be developed keeping in mind the following criteria’s:

  • Integrated and overall development by strengthening the production systems and livelihood support systems.
  • Conservation of natural resources like soil and water and making it available for a longer period of time leading to protection of biodiversity.
  • Generate employment to the people and reduce poverty.
  • Capacity building and provide livelihoods to people below poverty line and landless in watershed.
  • People participation by way of forming WC, SHGs, UGs and to see that there is no friction in the institutional arrangement.
  • Overall development of the habitat, by diversification in rural activities, like vegetable farming, fruit orchards, mushroom cultivation, etc. Moreover encouraging new farming systems like SRI (systems for rice intensification), micro irrigation in form of drip irrigation for efficient use of water.
