INTRODUCTION

The conservation of biodiversity for sustainable development provides the life support system of human being, but there has always been a challenge to negotiate the dichotomy between conservation and development. It is a question of choice between bad and worse. How can the human society survive without sustainable livelihood or the other side of the point how can the resource be available without the conservation of biodiversity. The answer could be a resilient and adaptive management which can reconcile the dichotomy of threat perceptions arising out of conservation.
