The major activities that are going on in this region are:
a) Capacity building of villagers and forest field staff under World Food Programme at Udaipur Forest Circle
Objective of the study:
- Develop the capacity of the Community Development Workers under World Food Programme to ensure the long term goal of Human Development through Natural Resource Management.
- Capacity building of the community members especially women to bring desired change in the condition of their health, education and resource base through formation of women Self Help Groups.
- Capacity building of the group members for preparation and implementation of microplans for sustainable Natural Resource Management.
- Integration with Panchayati Raj Institutions for institutionalization of the programme.
- Developing linkages with the line departments.
- Developing indicators and mechanism for participatory monitoring.
- Documentation of the whole process.

b) Workshops and training on Combating Desertification
A training programme was conducted in Jodhpur and Sikar on combating desertification. A total of 40 participants were present
for the training. The training was conducted with the following objective which was successfully achieved during the time frame. Objectives of the training programme:
- To develop concepts of combating desertification
- Methods of involving people in combating desertification
- Preparation of management plan
- Developing participatory monitoring indicators
Field Demonstration on the methods of community involvement.
